Virtual Events for Your Enjoyment

  • British Music Embassy Sessions - PRS for Music has gathered UK artists unable to play the cancelled SXSW festival for the British Music Embassy sessions. Here’s the link to their live sessions on Youtube.

  • English National Ballet Philharmonic - The musicians that make the ENB Philharmonic play the Swan Lake Overture from their homes. Available on Youtube.

  • Support independent musicians performing at home - Isolate Live is a Facebook page that is organising online streamed concerts from up-and-coming artists with full support bills. Access is free with the option to donate towards the musicians playing. The first show was on Thursday 19 March at 7pm (GMT). Here’s the link for their past gigs.

  • Defected Virtual House Music Festival - Defected Records is broadcasting 12 hours of house music for its Defected Virtual Festival on Friday 20 March from 12pm. You may watch the livestream on Facebook.

  • Sofa Singers - Join the Sofa Singers at an at-home choir you can sing with or enjoy through streaming.

  • Frank Turner Live at Home - Frank Turner performed a Facebook Live stream show with his UK tour supports on 17 March, the day after his remaining dates were cancelled. Streamed from his house, he used the show to fundraise for his touring crew and support acts (which is still open for donations). He is now doing the same to raise funds for independent UK venues with live streamed album shows from his home under the banner Independent Music Love.

  • Isolate / Create - A creative project where bands offer digital parts from some of their songs to be reinterpreted by musicians at home. Find the multitrack stems here. Created by heavy maverick art-rock band The Armed, it contains music from Chelsea Wolfe, Converge, La Dispute, Pelican, and The Armed with more to come.

  • Free Berlin Philharmonic online shows - The Berlin Philharmonic is giving free access to its online Digital Concert Hall for one month.

  • The Shows Must Go On! - Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber is calling all musical lovers! They release full-length, smash-hit musicals once a week for you to watch for free on Youtube! It will be available for 48 hours, so you can tune in whenever you like over the weekend!

  • Operavision - Operavision gives you the chance to stream opera performances online. Visit their website for their performances.

  • Glyndebourne - The famous Opera and picnic venue traditionally broadcasts to cinemas, but will put them online in the meantime. Bring your own picnic!

  • Rosie Kay’s MK Ultra - MK ULTRA explores the rise of a strange, dark myth of our time. How, as millions of young people turn away from the established political systems, they are embracing bizarre conspiracies that they see hidden like a secret code in the culture and music that surrounds them. Available now on Youtube.

  • BBC Culture in Quarantine - Showcases work on the BBC and from the wider sector. Free (with a TV license of course).

  • HOME at home - Manchester's HOME has teamed with MUBI and Curzon to offer its members free and discounted access to films they would usually be showing.

  • Digital Theatre - Wide range of UK venues with theatre, opera, musicals, and also art oriented movies. Currently £9.99 per month, or pay per view options available. Visit their website for options.

  • Broadway HD - The US theatre service, costs $8.99 per month to give you a dose of stateside culture. Sign up on their website.

  • Marquee TV - Wide range of cultural arts, from theatre, ballet, dance, opera, and documentaries. First month free, then £8.99 per month.

  • Disney Plus - Disney Plus are offering a 7 day free trial to catch musicals such as 'Newsies.'

  • Cyprus Avenue - On Friday 27 March, for World Theatre Day, the Royal Court released David Ireland’s Cyprus Avenue. The film mixes the drama shot at the Royal Court with location scenes of Belfast.

  • The Hampstead Theatre - This is one of our favourite venues in London so I couldn't have been more thrilled to see they are offering us live streams of their amazing work. Again, another free live stream, they will be releasing new shows over the next few weeks.

  • Barn Theatre Cirencester - The theatre is offering us FREE live streams of some of their past productions. Currently you can watch Henry V, a modern version of Shakespeare's classic. If you enjoy the production and want more, you can make a donation to the theatre to help them continue to bring us theatre during this time and after. Visit 'The Barn Theatre Cirencester,' on Facebook to watch the shows and, to donate, visit

  • The Original Theatre Company - This company is bringing you two productions, Alan Bennett's 'The Habit of Art,' which was meant to go on tour this year, and 'The Croft,' by Ali Milles. Plus you can get backstage exclusives. Now these productions aren't free, however they are only £4.17 for two shows and extras! Amazing. Visit
